Caithness farmer and contractor JW Sinclair & Co, has stepped up in power to meet the needs of ever-more demanding customers. Brothers Andrew and Michael Sinclair (pictured), along with their father, James, have considerable experience of running Kubota tractors at Mid-Clyth. The family has clocked up over 6,000 hours on an M128X, over 12,000 hours on an M108S, over 6,000 hours on an M7-151 and 3,500 hours on a two-year old M7-173 Premium complete with front linkage and PTO. And now the farm has added an M6-132 to its fleet, supplied by HRN Tractors with a five-year/5,000-hour warranty. “We do like the reliability of Kubota tractors, and our older tractors have certainly proved that,” explains Michael. As general contractors, the Sinclairs operate a fleet of four combines plus a self-propelled forage harvester working in a 20-mile radius of base, providing grass and arable contract services for local farmers. “We’re not surrounded by large fields, so the size of our machinery reflects our ability to look after several customers at once,” adds Michael. “And having HRN on our doorstep at Dunn Watten gives us the support and the confidence to run our kit for longer.”
